Daytime temperatures could reach 40°C in various locations across the state
Bhubaneswar: Odisha is bracing for sweltering days ahead, with forecasts from the IMD indicating that maximum temperatures are expected to soar 3°C-4°C above normal across most parts of the state in the coming days. The IMD’s regional center in Bhubaneswar predicts that daytime temperatures could reach 40°C in various locations throughout Odisha. Additionally, minimum temperatures are also anticipated to rise by 2°C-3°C as April approaches.
According to the IMD, Saturday could see temperatures hitting 40°C in several districts including Bolangir, Titilagarh, Sundargarh, Malkangiri, Boudh, Angul, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Bhavanipatna, Rayagada, and Gajapati. However, northern districts of Odisha may experience thunderstorms over the next four to five days. The IMD has issued a yellow warning for light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in districts such as Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, and Jajpur from Friday to Tuesday, with wind speeds ranging from 30 to 40 kmph.
