Mohan Yadav named next CM of Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal: Mohan Yadav, an OBC face of Madhya Pradesh BJP, is set to assume the role of Chief Minister of the state, bringing an end to prolonged speculation surrounding the party’s choice. The announcement was made by BJP observers, revealing that Mohan Yadav, the former Higher Education Minister of the state and a representative from Ujjain South, will soon take the oath of office as the new Chief Minister.

In addition to the appointment of Mohan Yadav, Madhya Pradesh will witness the appointment of two Deputy Chief Ministers as Jagdish Deora and Rajendra Shukla. Furthermore, senior BJP leader Narendra Singh Tomar has been designated as the new Speaker.

Following the official disclosure, Mohan Yadav conveyed his gratitude to both the central and state leadership. In expressing his humility, he remarked, “I may not consider myself entirely deserving of this responsibility, but I am committed to making every effort with the love, blessings, and support of the people.”

The developments in Madhya Pradesh were part of a broader regional political shift, as on the same Sunday, the BJP declared Vishnu Deo Sai as the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh. Notably, this appointment marked a historic moment, as Sai became the first tribal Chief Minister in the state, succeeding former Chief Minister Amit Jogi.

Following the November 17 polls, in which the BJP clinched victory by securing 163 out of 230 seats in the assembly, maintaining its hold on power, there was a suspicion surrounding the selection of the chief ministerial candidate.
