Bhubaneswar: Emerging as the premier digital service provider in Odisha, Reliance Jio has secured its position as the top choice for consumers by recording the highest influx of new mobile subscribers in September 2023, according to the latest data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) today.
Remarkably, Jio stands out as the sole service provider that experienced a surge in new subscribers during September, as disclosed by the TRAI data. Specifically, Reliance Jio welcomed over 98,000 new mobile subscribers in Odisha throughout the month, while competitors such as Airtel, BSNL, and VI saw a decline in their subscriber numbers. This achievement solidifies Jio’s dominance in both wireless and wireline segments, boasting nearly 1.45 crore mobile subscribers and 2.45 lakh JioFiber high-speed broadband subscribers as of September 30, 2023.
Despite the substantial growth for Jio, other service providers witnessed a reduction in their subscriber bases, contributing to an overall decrease of over 4 lakhs in the telecom subscriber count in Odisha for September. Consequently, the total number of mobile subscribers in the state now stands at 3.32 crores.
On a national scale, Jio maintains its supremacy in the industry, continuing to attract the highest number of subscribers in September. TRAI data reveals that Jio added over 34 lakh subscribers during the month, elevating its total mobile subscriber base to surpass 449 million and reinforcing its position as the leading digital service provider in the country.
Notably, Reliance Jio commands a significant presence in Odisha, capturing a substantial 43.6% subscriber market share and an impressive 52% revenue market share in the industry. As the foremost digital service provider in the state, Jio is rapidly expanding its True 5G network across all districts of Odisha, establishing itself as the first telecom operator with 5G network coverage throughout the entire state.
