ED Issues yet another summons to Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren

Ranchi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued the sixth summons to Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, compelling him to appear before the federal agency for questioning in relation to a money laundering investigation concerning the alleged fraudulent sale and purchase of land in Ranchi, according to officials familiar with the matter on Monday.

An official stated, “The chief minister is anticipated to present himself at the agency’s zonal office in Ranchi on Tuesday.”

Following the dismissal of Soren’s plea against the fifth summons by the Jharkhand high court, he initially sought relief from the Supreme Court. However, the Supreme Court directed him to submit his plea to the High Court.

Despite the setback, Soren, who serves as the executive president of the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, has not yet contested the high court’s decision.
