Talcher: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan unveiled a life-sized statue of Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati at Gurujanga, his birthplace located in the Talcher block of Angul district. Swami Laxamanananda Saraswati was killed on August 23, 2008 at Kandhamal district.
Describing Swamiji as an esteemed figure embodying self-respect, resilience, social cohesion, and unwavering conviction, Pradhan expressed his long-standing admiration for the Swamiji, dating back to his childhood, and acknowledged being influenced by his teachings.

Recalling Swamiji’s guidance on the challenges and perils faced by Odisha, Pradhan emphasized the Swamiji’s insights into how the youth could contribute to their resolution. Praising Swamiji’s advocacy for instilling a sense of devotion among the masses for the service of distressed individuals, Pradhan highlighted the Swamiji’s pivotal role in fostering social harmony in Odisha.
The Union Minister underscored Swamiji’s dedicated efforts and ultimate sacrifice for the betterment of tribal communities and distressed populations in Kandhamal. Overall, Pradhan commemorated Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati as a beacon of inspiration and positive change in Odisha.
