Bhubaneswar: In a demonstration of its unwavering commitment to fostering skill development and societal upliftment, Dalmia Bharat Foundation (DBF), the corporate social responsibility (CSR) wing of Dalmia Bharat Ltd. (DBL), inaugurated its 19th DIKSHa (Dalmia Institute of Knowledge and Skill Harnessing) Centre in Lanjiberna, Odisha.
This new center, dedicated to empowering rural youth through comprehensive skill training and sustainable livelihood development, aspires to positively impact 106 neighboring villages. With an annual capacity to accommodate 360 trainees, the center will deliver practical workshops and sessions to equip unemployed youth with essential skills, enhancing their employability and entrepreneurial potential for increased income.
The inauguration event was graced by senior officials including Mr. Chetan Srivastava, Executive Director, DCBL-Rajgangpur, Dr. Niladri Bhushan Parhi, AED, DCBL-Rajgangpur; Mr. Omprakash Khelkar, Mines Head, Lanjiberna; Mr. Jyoti Prakash Sethi, District Employment Officer, Rourkela; Mr. Keshaw Chandra Jha, Dy. CEO, ORMAS, Sundergarh; and nine village Pradhans from peripheral villages. This marks the seventh DIKSHa center launched in Odisha.
The DIKSHa center in Lanjiberna will offer skill training courses in Customer Relationship Management in IT-ITes, General Duty Assistant in Healthcare, and Housekeeping Trainee in Tourism and Hospitality. Pre-qualified trainers recruited by DBF will conduct these courses, adhering to the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF). In addition to skill training, the center will oversee the assessment and certification process, including joint certification. DIKSHa is committed to providing placement assistance to trained candidates nationwide.

Mr. Ashok K. Gupta, CEO of Dalmia Bharat Foundation, commented on the new center’s launch, stating, “At Dalmia Bharat, we are dedicated to developing inclusive programs that create a tangible and positive impact in the lives of marginalized communities. In a country with the world’s youngest and largest workforce, India faces significant skill gaps. Our objective is to bridge these gaps, promoting economic empowerment and an improved quality of life for our youth. Through DIKSHa, we aim to contribute to building a skilled and self-reliant India.”
DIKSHa, offering placement-linked short-term skill training to youth and women, has successfully trained 13,111 individuals to date, with over 9,578 individuals securing gainful employment and earning monthly wages ranging from INR 8,000 to INR 20,000.
