Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik expressed profound sorrow over the tragic demise of three individuals in a road accident at Nischintakoili on the Cuttack-Chandbali Road. He announced a compensation of Rs 3 lakh for the families of each deceased.
On the other hand, nine individuals sustained severe injuries in the incident and have been hospitalized at SCB Medical College in Cuttack. The Chief Minister has instructed the authorities to ensure they receive optimal medical care, and he extended his wishes for their swift recovery.
The unfortunate incident occurred in the morning as a bus, carrying 60 passengers from Kendrapara to Cuttack, collided head-on with a speeding truck registered in Rajasthan. The collision resulted in three fatalities and left 40 others injured.
While the injured have been admitted to the local health center, those with serious injuries have been transferred to Cuttack for further medical attention.
