Releases two new ad films to inform and educate people on emerging threats in the digital age and how one can protect themselves
Mumbai: Bank of Baroda (BoB), a prominent public sector bank in India, has unveiled its #PehchaanCon 3.0 Banking Fraud Awareness initiative. This campaign aims to educate the public about emerging financial scams, particularly those leveraging Artificial Intelligence-generated Deepfake technology, which can deceive even the most cautious individuals.
In the latest phase of the #PehchaanCon campaign, BoB has launched two new advertisement films featuring actor Kunaal Roy Kapur. These videos combine humor with informative content to illustrate how anyone, regardless of intelligence or strength, can fall victim to deception. Utilizing advanced deepfake techniques, fraudsters impersonate family members or acquaintances, or pose as delivery agents to extract One Time Passwords (OTPs) from online shoppers, subsequently gaining access to personal data.
The advertisements underscore the vulnerability of individuals to such attacks. Kunaal Roy Kapur portrays a sympathetic doctor, lending an ear to his patients’ concerns while contemplating strategies to safeguard against fraud in the future. The message emphasizes the importance of vigilance and the ability to identify fraudulent activities, enabling customers to protect their financial information and ensure a secure online banking and shopping experience.
Shri Lal Singh, Executive Director of Bank of Baroda, highlighted the growing prevalence of online frauds and the evolving tactics of cybercriminals. He stressed the necessity for heightened awareness and urged customers to remain vigilant in identifying potential scams. The #PehchaanCon campaign serves as a reminder for individuals to safeguard their hard-earned money from the persistent threats posed by cybercriminals.
In essence, the campaign aims to amplify the message: Stay informed and stay alert. Watch the videos here:
