Bhubaneswar: An online program was conducted at the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences (SPS) to raise awareness about preventing cardiac deaths in young individuals. Held on Wednesday, the initiative, in collaboration with the National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) and the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), focused on educating the faculty of SPS, SOA, staff, and students.
The Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) session was inaugurated by Dr. Abhijat Sheth, President of NBEMS, who discussed preventive measures for cardiac deaths during activities like exercising, running, dancing, and performing. Dr. Sanjeev Mittal and Dr. Debasish Dhar from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi, elaborated on simple CPR techniques, emphasizing that even an ordinary person could potentially save a life in an emergency.

The primary objective of the program was to promote awareness about CPR. Dr. Pratap Kumar Sahu, Deputy Dean of the institute and Nodal Person for the program, organized the event under the guidance of Prof. S.C. Si, Dean, and Dr. Debajyoti Das, Additional Dean of SPS.
