Bhubaneswar: Dr. Achyuta Samanta, an eminent educationist and social reformer, was conferred upon an honorary Doctorate of Science degree by JV Women’s University, Jaipur, during its 14th convocation ceremony. This prestigious recognition marks his 57th honorary doctorate, acknowledging his remarkable contributions to education, social service, and women’s empowerment.
Although Dr. Samanta participated virtually, his representative accepted the honor on his behalf from the university. The chief guest for the event was Dr. Kiran Bedi, a retired IPS officer and former Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry.
This accolade holds particular significance as it is the first time Dr. Samanta has received such an honor from a women’s university. In his expression of gratitude to the university, Dr. Samanta dedicated the award to his mother, Nilimarani, and to all the women faculty and administrative staff of Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) and Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT).
